Knowledge Meeting Plaine Commune and Dutch Cycling Embassy 4 November 2022 Cycling News In 2024, Paris will host the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. The city has gone through a rapid transition towards a bike-friendly city the past years and they are still looking for further improvements. As the organisation expects 5% of the modal share to be cyclists, they have to make facilitate for their needs. Paris wants free bike parking near Olympic venues with good security so everyone feels safe. During a meeting with Plaine Commune, Dutch Cycling Embassy, Mobycon, Arup, Abel Sensors, Street-Stuff!, and Bike.box, we discussed how Dutch expertise can help Paris with these challenges. Among other things, we emphasised the importance of signage so the cyclists know where to go; bike parkings should be located in nice and safe areas; the bike parking should be close to the venues; and in the bike parking you should already feel the excitement of the Games! We look forward to discussing further and cannot wait to see so many visitors on bike!
