Knowledge Eurocities Mobility Forum Dutch Cycling Masterclass 26 March 2024 Cycling News From March 18th to 20th, 2024, the Eurocities Mobility Forum took place in Utrecht, gathering over 200 decision makers from municipalities across the European Union. As part of the official program, Dutch Cycling Embassy International Relations Manager Chris Bruntlett worked in cooperation with Teije Gorris from network participant GO-bility to moderate a two-hour “Dutch Cycling Masterclass” focused on cycle network and infrastructure design. The masterclass provided a sneak preview of the Dutch Bicycle Infrastructure Training that will take place in Breda from June 24th to 28th, the week after the Velo-city Conference. Featuring case studies from participating cities Munich, Brno, and Toulouse, attendees were introduced to the principles of successful network design, and then carefully applied them to these specific contexts during two different breakout sessions. They walked away from the class with new knowledge and enthusiasm for Dutch cycling principles. We’d like to thank the Eurocities organizing committee, including the Municipality of Utrecht, for offering this platform to share our knowledge.
