Cycling in Paris

21 June 2022

In June 2022, the Dutch Cycling Embassy and 15 of its partners visited Paris to experience the Parisian cycling culture. As the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2024 will be held in Paris, the city is looking for opportunities that tourists can travel from one venue to the other by bike. The Dutch Embassy in Paris arranged multiple visits with important stakeholders. We started the day with a bike tour together with representatives from the City of Paris and the Greater Paris Bicycle Network. We continued our day with a meet and greet at the Moovelab by Station F, which is an incubator for mobility start-ups. In the afternoon, we had a presentation and discussion with the cycling representatives of the Interministerial Delegation for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The meeting was an opportunity to understand the vision and the cycling challenges for the years to come before the Olympic Games. We discussed temporary and secure bike parking, free-floating solutions, Olympic bike paths, bike data and much more.

We concluded the day at the Atelier Néerlandais with pitches from several Dutch and French companies. After the presentations there was a cocktail reception to celebrate a successful day with many Dutch cycling opportunities in Paris!
