Cycling Experts José Besselink José is a Senior Urban Planner in the field of public space and active mobility at the City of Rotterdam. Being passionate about cycling she is involved in the Rotterdam bicycle program as a strategic advisor. José is a changemaker in her organization, where she leads transformative initiatives that prioritize cycling and walking as sustainable and equitable modes of transportation. With a multidisciplinary approach, she blends her expertise in urban planning and mobility to the domains of health, wellbeing and sports. She believes that education and empowerment are key to breaking down barriers and making cycling accessible to everyone. José’s commitment to cycling goes beyond her professional role as she is also volunteering as bicycle trainer for people who want to learn how to cycle in her hometown Utrecht. As a board member she brings in her wide range of expertise for the strategic development of the Dutch Cycling Embassy where she focuses on the mission ‘cycling for everyone’.
