Cycling in Rio
On Monday June 11th, the Dutch Cycling Embassy co-organized a pre-Velo-city program in Rio. The program consisted of a bike tour through the city and a networking reception at the residence of the Dutch Consulate General.
The program was joined by both Dutch delegates and Brazilian relations, which resulted in fruitful networking moments. The Dutch Cycling Embassy closely cooperated with the Dutch Consulate in Rio de Janeiro and two Dutch entrepreneurs running the bike tour organization ‘Rio by bike’. Due to their Dutch background, the tour guides where able to address the interesting and relevant spots for Dutch professionals in the field of cycling. The bike tour focused on a number of highlights both from a cyclists’ point of view as from a tourist point of view and provided the Dutch delegation with a bit more background of the city.
After the cycling tour, the Dutch Consulate hosted a networking reception in the residence of the Consulate General, Mr. Roland Martin, for both Dutch delegates and Brazilian relations. The residence proved to be a perfection location for such a reception, with a wonderful view and an intimate setting. The reception offered good opportunities to create first connections and to get used to Brazilian business habits. An amazing first start of the Velo-city week!
