Knowledge Quarterly Participant Meeting Q2 3 June 2026 General On Thursday 28 May, Dutch Cycling Embassy participants came together in Nijmegen for our Q2 Quarterly Participant Meeting. This time, we were hosted by DCE participant Ruben Loendersloot at the Splendor Factory, located in a fantastic spot in the city. We kicked off the afternoon in true Dutch Cycling Embassy style: by bike. Guided by Ruben Loendersloot and Sjors van Duren from Haskoning, participants cycled through Nijmegen and discovered some of the city’s cycling highlights along the way, before arriving at the Splendor Factory for the meeting. Following a short welcome and updates from the DCE team and board, we moved into interactive breakout sessions. With participants from across the different sectors of our public-private network represented, the sessions brought together a broad range of perspectives and expertise. Participants exchanged experiences and ideas around study visits and ThinkBike workshops, speaking opportunities and international knowledge exchanges, as well as conferences and trade fairs. The discussions focused on lessons learned, new opportunities and how we can make even better use of the knowledge and experience within our network. The groups shared their main takeaways and fresh ideas in a short plenary wrap-up, before continuing the conversations over networking drinks on the rooftop terrace. And there was another reason to celebrate: our host Ruben had celebrated his birthday the day before, so we were happy to congratulate him in person! A big thank you to Ruben and Sjors for showing us around Nijmegen, to Ruben for hosting us at the Splendor Factory, and to everyone who joined and contributed to the discussions.
