On November 19, 2021, Dutch Cycling Embassy Managing Director Lucas Harms partipated in the World of E-Mobility Forum in Haarlemmermeer, the Netherlands. The annual three-day event promotes the electrification of bicycles, cars, and trucks in order to help accelerate the mobility transition to more sustainable means. This particular parallel session was entitled “(Cargo) e-Bike and the Policy”, during which Lucas offered insights into e-bike usage in the Netherlands, and how lessons might be applied to global cities, particularly in a post-pandemic world (with reduced public transport use and service). Panelists included Jill Warren from the European Cyclists’ Federation and Esther van Garderen from the Fietsersbond.
