Workshop and Knowledge Exchange in Matsuyama, Ehiime Prefecture, Japan

14 October 2025

On September 24th and 25th, 2025, the Dutch Cycling Embassy was in Matsuyama, Japan for a workshop titled, “The Meaning of Hosting Velo-City and Learning From Bicycle Policies of Europe”. International Relations Manager Chris Bruntlett was joined by Movares’ Lennie Siesling and RVO’s Sonja Munnix. Ehime Prefecture officials invited us share our insights and expertise, as they strive to leave a meaningful and lasting legacy for the 2027 conference. On the second morning, we joined the flock of students cycling to Matsuyama Higashi High School, an impressive sight in a city where nearly 90% of secondary school students travel by bike each and every day.
