Transforming Transportation 2024 in Washington D.C

2 April 2024

Transforming Transportation 2024, a prestigious global event focusing on sustainable mobility and transportation solutions, was held on the 19th and 20th of March, 2024, at the World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. The Dutch Cycling Embassy showcased its expertise and commitment to promoting cycling as a sustainable mode of transport, with a dedicated booth and active participation in various sessions throughout the conference.

A highlight of the event was the session titled “Accelerating Active Mobility for a Sustainable Tomorrow,” hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. This session delved into innovative approaches to encourage active mobility and sustainable transportation solutions.

Leading up to the conference, on March 18th, participants were invited to join a “Welcome Bike Ride” organised by the WRI Ross Center for Sustainable Cities, in collaboration with the Ambassadors of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, and the Kingdom of Belgium in Washington D.C. This ride served as a symbolic gesture of promoting cycling as a key component of sustainable urban transportation.

Transforming Transportation 2024 brought together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to exchange ideas, showcase innovations, and advance the global agenda for sustainable transportation. It was a great opportunity to meet and network with like-minded individuals from around the world, fostering valuable connections and collaborations. We look forward to joining again in the future!
