Symposium on the Future of Cycling at Duke-Kunshan University in Kunshan, China

On Sunday, September 28th, 2025, Dutch Cycling Embassy International Relations Manager Chris Bruntlett keynoted a symposium at Duke-Kunshan University in Kunshan entitled, “Pedaling Forward: The Future of Cycling in China and the World”. With contributions from Dutch and Chinese experts, and a broad cross-section of regional stakeholders, the event explored collaborative ways to promote cycling culture. His intervention was entitled, “The Global Shift Towards Urban Vitality and Inclusive Design”, during which he outlined the case for designing streets in a more inclusive and intuitive way, and some of the cities around the world that are leading this process.
