Knowledge Smart Cities Expo World Congress Barcelona 18 November 2021 Cycling News From November 14th to 18th, the DCE was present at the Smart Cities Expo World Congress in Barcelona. The week started with a business forum for Scandinavian and Dutch companies, organized by RVO. Many companies in the field of green and smart mobility pitched their ideas and products. On Tuesday, the Netherlands pavilion was focused on mobility. As part of the program, Margot Daris presented about how the Dutch Cycling Embassy can help cities all over the world to become (more) cycle friendly. To reach climate neutral cities in 2030, cycling as a way of sustainable transport cannot be overlooked. Cities serious about equity, health, the economy, and environment will embrace the ultimate “smart” tech: the bike. After Margot’s presentation, Erik de Winter from Cargoroo presented about how shared cargo bikes are just like cars but then for cities. Thereafter, Jeroen Steenbakkers from Argaleo demonstrated the added value of digital twin cities for mobility policy in cities. The following two days were full of meeting new people and deepening existing partnerships.
