Knowledge Indo-German-Dutch Partnership for Active Mobility in Indian Cities 4 March 2024 Cycling News With rapid urbanisation and mounting environmental challenges, embracing active mobility, which involves physical activity, like walking or cycling, becomes vital for healthier lives and a greener planet. However, the shift to active transport from car-oriented societies requires the right planning, design, and infrastructure. To share our experience implementing some of the best active mobility projects in the world, the Dutch Cycling Embassy is proud to partner with GIZ India. Under this partnership, we aim to: 🤝 Enable knowledge exchange between India and Netherlands on top-notch #ActiveMobility projects. 🌐 Share best practices through events and joint initiatives, all aligned with SDG 13. 🚲 Drive behavioural change to encourage more citizens for adopting cycling as their go-to mode of transport. 🌿 Raise awareness about the incredible health and environmental perks of cycling. 🎯 Contribute to India’s Net Zero by 2070 goal. With our joint efforts, we embark on a journey where each step and pedal revolution counts – for our health, our cities, and our planet. Together, we can shape a future where active and sustainable transportation is not just a choice but a way of life. Through this partnership, we solidify our commitment for the promotion of green mobility in Indian cities, a key focus area for Indo-German cooperation highlighted in the Green Urban Mobility Partnership, as well as the Green and Sustainable Development Partnership signed between the two countries.
