Knowledge Dutch Cycling Embassy in Shanghai, China 15 December 2025 Cycling News From December 5th to 10th, International Relations Manager Chris Bruntlett visited Shanghai, where he continued the rapidly expanding work of the Dutch Cycling Embassy bridging the bicycle kingdoms of the Netherlands and China. Through the support of Energy Foundation China, he participated in a series of introductory meetings, site visits, and knowledge exchanges with the Shanghai Urban Planning & Design Institute, Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, and Urban Transportation Research Institute at Tongji University. A place the DCE has visited four times in the past eight months, China’s ambition for cycling is immense, as is their appetite for Dutch cycling expertise. With our partners at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management and Netherlands Enterprise Agency, as well as our own public-private network, we’re looking forward to building on this cooperation in 2026.
