Knowledge Diplomats Cycle Through The Hague with DCE 22 August 2025 Cycling News On 16 August 2025, the Dutch Cycling Embassy co-led the 10th annual Diplomats Biking Spree, a cycling tour through The Hague organised by Diplomat Magazine. The event drew ambassadors and diplomats from across five continents, representing countries and territories including Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Burundi, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Germany, Ireland, Palestine, the Philippines, Spain, Uruguay, the United States, and Venezuela. The group gathered at the Leonardo Royal Hotel The Hague for coffee and networking before setting off on a scenic ride through the city’s dunes and coastal paths toward Kijkduin. The tour was guided by Emma Stubbe of the Dutch Cycling Embassy, who shared insights into the Netherlands’ cycling culture and infrastructure, highlighting how bicycles became central to Dutch daily life and urban planning. Along the route, participants learned about recent developments in cycling infrastructure, including new cycle parking facilities in Kijkduin. During a relaxed coffee stop, the group connected over shared interests in diplomacy, politics, environmental responsibility, and cultural exchange. The Dutch Cycling Embassy was pleased to support this initiative and looks forward to future collaborations that promote cycling as a tool for healthy living, international connection, and liveable cities.
