Knowledge DCE at the ITB Berlin with Manager of Active Mobility 21 March 2025 Cycling News As part of the Dutch Pavilion at ITB Berlin, the Dutch Cycling Embassy represented by Skadi Tirpak and Nils Steinhäuser participated in a number of side events organised by the Netherlands Bureau of Tourism and Conventions (NBTC). Starting with a press conference in the evening before the fair, together with the Manager of Active mobility of the ministry of Transport Arlette van Gilst and the cycling major of Utrecht Belle de Gast we talked about how the Netherlands became a cycling country and what is done to get more people onto bikes. The next day after the stand opening we participated in a round of presentations on the Slowlands talking about why the Netherlands is a cycling country and how this is done. The visit was rounded up with meeting in Berlin with ministries and research institutions talking about the challenges and opportunities that German cities and Berlin in particular face in the transition to become more cycling friendly.
