Cycling Experts Rick Lindeman Since the early 2000s Rick works on the cutting edge of bicycle innovation and the urban fabric. He worked on the early tests for the Dutch Public Bike Share System ‘OV Fiets’ when he worked for the Dutch Enterprise Agency (RVO). In 2013 he joined Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch executive agency for Roads and Waterworks. Here he created the concepts to adapt a traditional road and water agency to be more cycle friendly. It seems simple to ‘just add a bike lane to a bridge’, but complex issues of design, heritage, financing structures, and organizational issues must be dealt with first He has worked on wide range of international projects for more than twenty years, regarding cycling and sustainable transport like Civitas and currently Cycling Waterways. He has organized workshops in places as diverse as Casablanca, New Orleans and Bogota. Rick studied Urban Planning at the Universities of Amsterdam and Rome (La Sapienza). Furthermore, he is recognized by the international association of facilitators as a Master Facilitator. He lives in the old Bishopric of Utrecht. He loves scuba-diving, retrogames is a beekeeper. He has a cargo bike, a racing bike, a folding bike and a city bike.
