Gerrit Faber

As the bicycle policy adviser for the City of Haarlem, I work to make the cycling ambitions of the city come true. Sometimes I advise on projects about important details such as curbs or about directives to build high quality and long distance bicycle routes. I also consult colleagues of neighbouring cities, the province, and national organisations about the lay-out of the regional cycling network.

Another challenge is to encourage kids and their parents who are unfamiliar with Dutch Cycling culture to discover the freedom of cycling.

In the past I worked as a cycling campaigner in Amsterdam and for ECF (European Cyclists’ Federation) and for local authorities around the city of Alkmaar. I also have important connections with local experts from Cyclists Union.
