Cycling Experts Anne Hovingh Anne has worked for the City of Amsterdam (Department of Traffic and Public Space) since 2020. She has a lot of experience in projects on mobility, traffic safety and cycling. As a policy advisor, she works on harbouring the bike’s position in the city. For example, by implementing bicycle parking policy so that there’s enough parking space for bicycles whilst still making sure that the public space can be used by all. Or by working on traffic safety projects to ensure Amsterdam’s bike lanes stay safe and don’t get too crowded. Together with nearly 50 colleagues who work on bicycle policy pilots and projects, Anne shares her expertise on what it takes to change a car-oriented city into a bicycle-oriented one. Many delegations from all over the world visit Amsterdam to learn more about this. Anne has a master’s degree in Urban Studies.
