Knowledge Joana Abi Saber 14 September 2026 As an intern at the Dutch Cycling Embassy, Joana supports the team while learning from the expertise of her colleagues. Her background in Urban Studies has taught her to look at cities from social, environmental and health perspectives. This led to her interest in urban mobility and how cycling can contribute to healthier, more sustainable and inclusive cities. She is excited to put these ideas into practice and contribute to projects that make cities more cyclable and liveable. For her, cycling is a means of transport that also brings freedom and independence. Growing up in Lebanon, where many destinations are only accessible by car and alternatives are often limited, made her realise that this freedom cannot be taken for granted. This has deepened her appreciation for how accessible mobility gives people more freedom to move around and experience their city.
