Work environment The Dutch Cycling Embassy is a public private partnership that aims to promote Dutch cycling knowledge and expertise internationally. Daily, we receive requests from all over the world to share the Dutch experience. The Dutch Cycling Embassy offers a broad network of Dutch companies, knowledge institutes, NGOs, and government agencies to adhere to these requests. We work in an international team with colleagues from Germany, Canada, and all over the Netherlands. We offer study tours to delegations from abroad to show them the benefits of cycling. Therefore, we are not just sitting behind our desks but on our bikes instead! Description of the internship The international cooperation internship is focussed on our work with incoming delegations and the projects we do abroad. You will help with meeting incoming delegations, write proposals based on those meetings, and accompany them during their visit to the Netherlands. You may also be asked to help with other assignments. These include the intake of international requests, writing news items, and participating in team meetings. Every day at the DCE is different so you can expect to learn a lot during the internship! Your Profile You are enrolled in a higher education program; You are an excellent independent worker; You speak fluent English. Speaking multiple languages is preferred, with a preference for German and/or French. It is convenient if you speak Dutch as well, but it is not necessary; Affinity with cycling and international cooperation is key; You are an excellent networker; You have a hands-on mentality and you are assertive and proactive; Experience with Adobe InDesign or other design programs is beneficial; You are available for a period of 6 months, starting in September 2023. The exact start and end date will be mutually determined. What you can expect from us We offer an international and dynamic workplace with a lot of room for own initiative; You will quickly be treated as a full member of our team; We offer personal support and guidance; In particular cases, it is possible to do an internship assignment; There is an internship allowance available. Practicalities We expect you to live in the Netherlands during the internship so you can become a full member of the team. If you are not currently based in the Netherlands, we cannot help you with any legal practicalities or financial support for the transfer. Our office is at Nicolaas Beetsstraat 2a in Utrecht, which is just a 10-minute walk from Utrecht Central Station. Two or three days per week we work in the office, the other days we work from home or we are hosting delegations somewhere on the bike!
