Study Visit: Urban Land Institute

On the 9th of April, the DCE  hosted the Urban Land Institute for a study visit of Utrecht. The program was kicked off by a presentation on healthy urban living by the City of Utrecht. Then, the group took a walking tour of the Catharijnesingel and Utrecht Centraal bike parking, the largest bicycle parking station in the world. After lunch, the group explored how a cycling city is built with the DCE’s Chris Bruntlett and discovered the plans for the new car-free neighbourhood, Merwede with the City of Utrecht.

Afterwards, participants could see the theory in action with a bike tour of Utrecht, visiting sites such as Leidsche Rijn and the famous Dafne Schippersbrug.
