Knowledge Visit from PCMC 3 July 2024 Cycling News On June 28th, DCE’s Director Skadi Tirpak and Project Manager Shelley Bontje hosted a delegation from Pimpri-Chinchwad, India, with support from BYCS. The delegation included Bike Mayor Ashik Jain and Executive Engineer Bapusaheb Gaikwad, Roads, Traffic & Transportation Planning. DCE provided an introduction to integrating non-motorised transport with public transport through a walking tour around Utrecht Central Station. The group later exchanged ideas over Dutch stroopwafels and Indian sweets, discussing plans for redesigning their neighborhood. Pimpri-Chinchwad aims to launch a neighborhood model for a 15-minute city with cycling as part of the Global Designing Cities Initiative, one of the first ten cities selected for the Bloomberg Initiative for Cycling Infrastructure.
