VELOBerlin – the cycling festival

13 May 2023

In early May, DCE director Lucas Harms and project coordinator Nils Steinhauser attended VeloBerlin at the former airport of Tempelhof in Berlin. During a networking event on Saturday evening we had the chance to chat with a number of relevant people in the field of cycling in Germany and exchange perspectives and current challenges, especially in Berlin but also Germany in general. The following day we visited the trade fair and met with a number of companies at their stand including our network partner Cargoroo. In the afternoon, Lucas Harms gave a presentation on how the Netherlands became a cycling country and what could be learned from that. After some engaging questions we left Berlin and heading on to the VeloCity conference in Leipzig.
