Five Boro Bike Tour, New York City

From May 2nd to 5th, 2024, the Dutch Cycling Embassy was in New York City to participate in the Five Boro Bike Tour. Firstly, International Relations Manager joined a panel discussion during a special media event on May 2nd organized by the Netherlands Consulate General in New York and the Netherlands Board of Tourism and Conventions (TBC). The discussion was moderated by War on Cars host Doug Gordon, and featured Lieske Streefkerk-Arts, Counselor for Transportation and Environment at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Washington, DC.

And then, on Sunday, May 5th, the DCE was part of a large “Orange Wave” of 100+ cyclists organized by the Consulate General. The event attracted over 32,000 cyclists on 64 kilometres of car-free streets.
