Cycling Experts Joost de Kruijf As initiator of the national Dutch Metropolitan Cycling Innovations (DMCI) program, Joost is responsible for the substantive development and acceleration of the collaboration between national, regional and local governments in the field of information-driven bicycle policy innovation. In his current work, Joost focuses on establishing strong connections between government, industry and science in the field of mobility, built environment and data solutions. With a knowledge-driven approach, he stimulates the development of new insights and answers to improve cycling policy on a national scale, which should lead to an increase in bicycle traffic. Joost obtained his PhD at Utrecht University on the mobility transition from car use to e-bikes in daily commuting. In addition to insight into changes in transport mode choices, he has investigated differences in behavioral intention and behavior, weather and seasonal influences and the effects on well-being.
