Participants Siemens Siemens has been active in the Netherlands since 1879. The Siemens Group is one of the largest (electro-)technical companies in the Netherlands. Siemens Smart Infrastructure intelligently connects energy systems, buildings and industries to adapt and evolve the way we live and work. As Smart Infrastructure, we strive to create an ecosystem that both intuitively responds to people’s needs and helps them achieve their business and climate goals. Solutions and systems from Siemens focus on optimal comfort and safety. Digitalisation contributes to the rapid integration of these technologies. Numerous intelligent devices generate an impressive amount of data every second and every hour of every day. Smart building automation gives you unprecedented new opportunities to monitor the environment, improve performance and ultimately achieve the optimum result. Urbanisation, sustainability and digitalisation are important trends that are increasing the use of bicycles. Urban areas are becoming larger, busier and more densely populated, car-free zones and environmental zones are being introduced and shared bicycle systems are mushrooming. Therefore, accessibility of cities is high on the agenda of the Dutch government, as a result of which the use of public transport (OV) and bicycle is being stimulated and increased. The organization of bicycle parking is becoming more and more important for municipalities, public transport companies and public authorities. Siemens Nederland has developed bicycle parking concepts which allow bicycle users to park their bicycles safely and easily. These concepts contribute to a better accessibility of the city and a strong reduction of the number of ‘stray bikes’ within cities, around public transport hubs and public buildings. In cooperation with selected partners, Siemens ensures that the user can easily gain access with, for example, debit card, public transport chip card, employee card, student card or city card.
