Participants International Cargo Bike Festival Since 2004, Jos Sluijsmans has dedicated his professional life to the promotion of the (cargo) bike and cycling. He was a bike messenger, cycling teacher, organizer of bicycle events and debates, and consultant. In 2012 Jos organized the first “BakfietsTreffen (Cargo Bike Gathering) in Nijmegen. In 2014 the event was renamed the International Cargo Bike Festival (ICBF), when in cooperation with the European Cycle Logistics Federation (ECLF) a conference for professionals was added. The last ICBF took place in 2019 in Groningen. In 2022, the ICBF partnered with World of eMobility. In addition to his work at ICBF, Jos was also a partner of the research projects of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences such as LEFV-LOGIC and GO ELECTRIC on city logistics and service logistics. Together with Tom Parr, Jos runs RIPPL.bike, the “Register of Initiatives in Pedal Power Logistics”. The latest project is the organization of the Cargo Bike Expertise & Innovation Centre (CargoBEIC).
