On 15 October 2021, City of Utrecht Deputy Mayor Lot van Hooijdonk festively opened the new House Modernes bicycle parking with visitors. Together with the newly furnished House Modernes building, the inner city gets a new landmark with modern bicycle parking facilities designed by Movares. From the bicycle parking, you can step right into one of the many (new) stores in the heart of the city center. With space for 900 bicycles, the House Modernes bicycle parking facility is the largest municipal facility in the city center. It is a modern facility where you can park any type of bicycle (including cargo bikes or bikes with a crate), but you can also rent baby carriages, and see how many spaces are still available on the LUMIGUIDE digital signage system. You can park your bicycle free of charge for the first 24 hours: from Monday to Wednesday from 7am to 1am and from Thursday to Monday permanently between 7am and 1am. With this largest municipal bicycle parking facility in the city center, the municipality of Utrecht wants to offer more space to the many cyclists in the city and make the Utrecht city center even more accessible and attractive for visitors.
