Knowledge USA Dutch Mobility Digital Workshop Series 3 February 2021 Cycling News DCE teams with Netherlands Consulate in San Francisco to bring cycling expertise to the west coast of the USA. The COVID-19 crisis continues to have a significant impact on both our professional and personal lives. It has also fundamentally changed the way we look at cities; offering a unique window of opportunity to rethink, redefine, and reallocate streetscapes and the way they are used. However, it is of the upmost importance that these changes are thoroughly considered and carefully implemented, to avoid common mistakes and adverse effects. In response to these new opportunities, in conjunction with the Netherlands Consulate General in San Francisco, throughout January and February 2021 the Dutch Cycling Embassy presented a series of three free 90-minute digital workshops with Dutch experts targeted towards the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Los Angeles, and Pacific Northwest regions. Each webinar included three parallel breakout sessions: Integrated Mobility Planning and Traffic Management, featuring experts from Goudappel Coffeng, Technolution, and Breda University of Applied Science. Mobility Hubs and Multi-Modality, featuring experts from Studio Bereikbaar, Technical University of Delft, and ProRail. Inclusive (E-)Bike Design and Planning, featuring experts from Bikeminded, Mobycon, and CROW. Netherlands Consul General Dirk Janssen kindly introduced each session. You can watch recordings via this YouTube playlist, and download the PDF slide decks via this Dropbox link. Having successfully connected Dutch expertise with a number of municipal and regional decision makers, and hope to continue this collaboration with physical workshops in 2022.
