Knowledge Transforming Transportation 2022 23 February 2022 Cycling News DCE participates in the World Bank’s Transforming Transportation 2022. On February 17, 2022, Dutch Cycling Embassy Managing Director Lucas Harms joined (virtually) the World Bank Group and the World Resources Institute for the plenary session entitled “Safe and Healthy Transport Solutions for a Green Recovery”, as part of the online event Transforming Transportation. This year edition of the conference was focused on Climate-Centered Mobility for a Sustainable Recovery. Climate change and the coronavirus pandemic have disrupted the global transport sector and the people and businesses that rely on it in unprecedented ways. Transforming Transportation 2022 took post-COVID Recovery and post-COP26 as a starting point to reimagine transport to make it more accessible, safe, green, and efficient for everyone. During the 45 minutes plenary discussion, the DCE and the other panelists from diverse sustainable mobility organizations explored policies, strategies, design tools and financing mechanisms needed to provide safe and healthy transport solutions. The panelists, from their different backgrounds and perspectives, discussed practical solutions to take active mobility initiatives to the next step.
