Knowledge Rome/Turin Delegations in Amsterdam 17 May 2022 Cycling News Dutch Cycling Embassy contributes to Handshake Project visit for delegations from the Cities of Rome and Turin. During the week of May 16th, 2022, a delegation of elected officials, civil servants, and journalists from the Municipalities of Rome and Turin in Italy travelled to Amsterdam for an immersive study tour. Part of the EU-funded Handshake Project, cycling capital Amsterdam mentors a number of cities in Europe, including these two emerging cycling cities from Italy. In addition to bicycle tours, brainstorming sessions, and keynote presentations. On the morning of Tuesday, May 17th, Dutch Cycling Embassy Marketing & Communication Manager Chris Bruntlett presented best practices from decades of infrastructure and policy development. He discussed opportunities for implementing these solutions in Italian cities, not by copying-and-pasting, but by context-specific adaptations according to local geographical, societal, and cultural conditions.
