Planning for Active Transport in Canada

20 May 2021

DCE joins panel discussion hosted by Canadian Institute of Planners titled “Planning for Active Transportation”.

In early celebration of Bike-to-Work Day, on Thursday, May 20th, 2021, the Dutch Cycling Embassy’s Chris Bruntlett participated in a digital panel discussion hosted by the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP). Under the title “Planning for Active Transportation”, the invited panellists shared their expertise and discussed how they encourage walking, cycling, and other modes of active transportation in their communities through research, planning, and advocacy. The topics of equity, access, sustainability, resilience, and education were addressed from both a national and global perspective. Moderated by Member of Parliament (and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Infrastructure and Communities) Andy Fillmore, the panel included Armi De Francia from the Town of Ajax and Dr. Ahmed El-Geneidy from McGill University.
