The annual global summit discusses issues and topics related to urban design such as: building liveable cities, creating healthy built environments and complete communities as well as working on bridging the gap between urban designers, planners, policy makers and residents. Chris’ 40-minute keynote was entitled “”The Dutch Blueprint for Urban Vitality”, during which he offered insights into the Netherlands’ cycling successes (and mistakes), the benefits of building better cycling networks, and how these lessons might be applied to Canadian cities. The presentation was followed by 20-minutes of question-and-answer with the audience. You can watch a recording of the session on the UrbanDesignTalks YouTube channel.
