Knowledge New Director of the Dutch Cycling Embassy 18 June 2019 Cycling News Lucas Harms will officially take over the reins as the new director of the Dutch Cycling Embassy next month. Effective July 1st, 2019, Lucas Harms will become the new director of the Dutch Cycling Embassy. This was recently announced by Ruben Loendersloot, chairman of the board of the Dutch Cycling Embassy: “With Lucas Harms, the Dutch Cycling Embassy gets an inspiring and connecting director that can build on the foundations laid by Mirjam Borsboom in recent years. With his extensive knowledge, international network, and experience with Dutch cycling, he is a committed discussion partner for foreign interested parties, and the network participants of the Dutch Cycling Embassy. Together with our enthusiastic employees, he can further expand the global position of our organization.” Lucas Harms was previously a researcher at the Netherlands Institute for Transport Policy Analysis (KiM) and the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (PBL), and is affiliated with the Urban Cycling Institute (UCI) at the University of Amsterdam. “I am very happy to join this wonderful team that represents the best of Dutch cycling knowledge and expertise, and is increasingly recognized as the perfect source of information in helping to implement cycling within other countries and cultures,” says Harms. “The Dutch Cycling Embassy receives a growing number of requests from abroad to organize seminars, to exchange knowledge, and deliver products in the field of cycling around the globe. I am very excited to work with our team to match our experts with the increasing demand from overseas.” The Dutch Cycling Embassy is a public-private partnership, representing 60 organizations that offer the best of Dutch cycling knowledge and expertise to countries and cities around the world. Lucas Harms succeeds Mirjam Borsboom, who has been the managing director since 2015.
