Knowledge “From Pop-up to Permanent” in Sydney 23 February 2021 Cycling News On February 23rd, 2021, the Committee for Sydney organized a webinar called “From Pop-up to Permanent”. Focused on the current short-term measures to give space to cyclists in Sydney, this webinar discussed how this development can be transformed to a permanent cycle lane network. After a short introduction of the DCE by Director Lucas Harms, Willem Snel of &Morgen followed with a presentation on hardware. Able to give his views on the current developments as he recently emigrated with his family from Utrecht to Sydney, Willem showed the positive sides of the current situation in Sydney concerning the cycling infrastructure and on what can be improved. Frank Kwanten from Soigneur followed up with his views on the human side of cycling, how to use this changing environment to make an attractive city center, inviting people to live in, not just move through.
