Knowledge Dutch Cycling Embassy Sustainable Mobility Trade Mission to Los Angeles 5 November 2024 Cycling News From the 11th until the 15th of November, 2024, the Dutch Cycling Embassy visited Los Angeles as a part of a trade mission from the RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) that focused on Sustainable Mobility. Representatives from DCE network participants Movares, Velopa, and Technolution joined International Relations Manager Chris Bruntlett for the week-long program, organised in partnership with the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) in Los Angeles and the Netherlands Consul General in San Francisco. Los Angeles, one of the two biggest cities in the United States, will host the FIFA World Cup in 2026 and Olympic Games in 2028, and is now in the middle of the preparations for both events, which officials have promised will help accelerate their mobility transition. Furthermore, on the 13th and the 14th of November, Los Angeles hosted the CoMotion LA conference; a gathering of the world’s most influential and innovative companies and municipalities pushing the boundaries of mobility. Representatives of the DCE and its participants joined several panels and workshops during the conference. They also gave their view on sustainable mobility during meetings with LA Metro, LA DOT, UCLA, and Caltrans. Finally, the Dutch Cycling Embassy participated in a public event on the afternoon of November 14th in Culver City.
