Knowledge DCE Path Finding Mission in Japan 2 June 2022 Cycling News Dutch Cycling Embassy visits various cities in Japan to explore possible collaboration and knowledge exchange. From May 13th-22nd, the Dutch Cycling Embassy visited various cities in Japan to explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange between Dutch experts and Japanese professionals working on improving cycling conditions. We had high-level meetings with mayors in the Kansai and Tokyo metropolitan regions, exchanged ideas in workshops with urban planners and traffic engineers, spoke to universities, private corporations and citizen groups and engaged in panels at the Tokyo Bike Expo. From all our encounters there clearly seems to be an enormous potential and momentum for the redistribution of urban spaces and the re-prioritization of urban mobility towards active modes and more human centered and liveable places.
