Knowledge DCE at ConBici Congress in Coslada, Spain 27 March 2023 Cycling News From 16th to 18th March 2023, the Dutch Cycling Embassy attended the ConBici Congress in Coslada, Spain. DCE project coordinator Emma Stubbe presented a contribution titled, “Evaluación del éxito de ciudades ciclistas: hardware, software y orgware,” or “Evaluating the success of cycling cities: hardware, software and orgware” on a panel on the topic of legislation. She also gave a keynote address to close the congress, titled, “Ciclismo Neerlandés: Victorias, Oportunidades y Retos,” or “Dutch Cycling: Victories, Opportunities and Challenges,” which emphasized the importance of societal collaboration based on the example of the Dutch polder model. ConBici is the federation of cycling associations of Spain, and its annual conference brings together representatives from these organisations, as well as a wide range of external and international contributors, for presentations, panels, discussions and workshops, including also representatives from Portugal via the Federação Portuguesa de Cicloturismo e Utilizadores de Bicicleta (FPCUB), the Portuguese Federation of Cycle Tourism and Bicycle Users. We would like to thank the ConBici congress organisers warmly for the wonderful opportunity to bring Dutch best practices to Spain and to network, and greatly look forward to building future collaborations in Spain, for a healthy and bicycle-friendly country.
