On the morning of Tuesday, February 11th, 2020, Director Lucas Harms was in London to showcase the Dutch Cycling Embassy at the UK Houses of Parliament, together with network participant Falco Straatmeubilair. This high-profile event was organised by the the All Party Parliamentary Group for Cycling and Walking (APPGCW), and attended by over 40 MPs. During his opening speech, Walking and Cycling Minister Chris Heaton-Harris promised to bring “dozens” of new ‘Mini-Holland’ schemes to “transform town centres across the country to make them safer to get around”. That afternoon, Lucas joined a panel discussion at the MOVE 2020 Conference, sharing Dutch cycling success stories with the audience. He exchanged thoughts with a panel consisting of Mark Sutton from Cycling Industry News, Sean Moroney from Cambridge’s Campus Cycle Hub, and Amit Gupta from Yulu Bike. So there are many fantastic opportunities for intensification of UK-NL collaboration, despite Brexit!
