Knowledge Cycle Friendly Employers Breakfast London 2 December 2019 Cycling News Cycling experts present the Dutch perspective at Cycling UK’s Cycle Friendly Employers Breakfast in London. Last week, Simone Vonken (Eindhoven University of Technology), Xander Vlasblom (Schuberg Philis) and Max Mooij (Fietsersbond) were invited speakers at the Cycle Friendly Employer Breakfast Session at the Prince Philip House in London. After having listened to Brompton’s Julian Scriven, Mirjam Borsboom (Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management) took us through the Cycle Ambassadors’ program and the new lease bike regulations. Then Simone and Xander took center stage and showed themselves true advocates of cycling to work, expressing their respective employers’ motivation and sharing actions taken in order to increase the number of cycling employees. James Falser (Cycling UK), Andy Quinn (SONY) and Max had a discussion about the actual CFE program and various conditions and advantages of cycling to work. All in all, a very inspiring morning session with good attendance of over thirty employers present. In the afternoon, the Dutch experts were invited to a bike tour by the London Embassy. Despite the dismal weather, we enjoyed a nice ride through Hyde Park, along the river Thames ending in a pub in the city.
