Knowledge BIKEBRAINPOOL in Amsterdam 24 March 2023 Cycling News On the 16th of March a high-level delegation from Germany consisting of CEOs, industry representatives and cycling advocates visited the Netherlands. The trip was organised by Isabell Eberlein and Svea Cornelius from Velokonzept through the cycling industry think tank Bikebrainpool. In the morning, presentations about the cycling developments in Amsterdam were followed by an input from DCE´s Chris Bruntlett about communication in cycling advocacy and the need of knowledge exchange to improve cycling conditions. In the afternoon the group went on a cycling tour which started at the new underwater bike parking facility at Amsterdam Centraal and continued through Amsterdam Noord exploring the highly developed cycling infrastructure and recent interventions. After visits at Roetz bikes and Van Moof, the tour concluded in the Central Station. During the visit there was plenty of exchange about the differences in Germany and the Netherlands but also the need for change and its ways forward. These were already started the evening before during a network reception at the Volkshotel where new connections were made for promising collaborations and projects.
