Cycling Experts Norbert Schmidt Norbert works as Senior Consultant Sustainable Mobility at APPM’s Berlin offices and is especially passionate about the interconnection between cycling and other modes of (public) transportation. He strives to increase cycling also in less densely populated areas. This focus largely stems from developing and piloting an electric-folding-bike-subscription tightly integrated with the Helsinki Metropolitan Areas public transport in Finland. Prior to joining APPM he worked on the development of Germany’s national cycling plan (NRVP 3.0). He loves to go on bike holidays with his folding bike, documenting various forms of bike parking around the world and is a bit of an all-around “data nerd”. His wide-ranging skill set doesn’t stop at stakeholder management, workshops and public speaking but stretches across audio and visual media production to python programming for data analysis and visualisation. Employing this combination of skills, he is always eager to find new and innovative ways to further cycling and the understanding about various aspects of cycling planning for both public and private organisations.
