Geert van der Wilt

Geert van der Wilt, born and raised in Utrecht, has cycled almost all his life. Growing up, he saw the city change: the space on the street where he used to play has increasingly become the domain of (ever-growing) cars. At the same time, Utrecht has been transformed in recent years into a world-class cycling city. Geert uses the photos and videos he takes during his daily cycling trips to introduce others worldwide to developments in Dutch cities, with Utrecht in the lead, and the lessons that can be learned from them. He also likes to share his experiences as a father of three children, who learn to navigate traffic independently and encounter the challenges of today, such as the enormously increased crowds and the increasing speed differences on Dutch cycle paths.
