Rob van der Bijl

Rob is an urban planner, independent consultant and cycle expert with an Amsterdam-based office known for its innovative approach to research and design. His projects are characterized by a multidisciplinary approach at the intersections of urban planning, transport, culture and technology. With Lightrail.nl, Rob covers projects that are explicitly related to rail-based public transport, while recently extending to social empowerment with Favas.net (2009). Rob received his engineering degree and Ph.D. from the University of Technology in Delft. He welcomes cities and municipalities as well as entrepreneurs as clients. In particular, he supports citizens and grass roots initiatives.
