Ana Alanis

Urban Mobility Consultant, Business Developer Latin America, Working at Loendersloot Groep

Born and raised in the car-oriented city of Monterrey, Ana experienced her first experience in a truly different and health mobility system in Denmark. As a civil engineer and urban planner by heart, she now sees the world from different points of view; the technical, the sustainable, the artistic, the economic and most importantly, the human one.

Having lived in four different countries (Mexico, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands) has given her the opportunity to learn more about the differences and cultures and how they compare. She now creates bridges between the Dutch expertise and the Latin American needs.

Ana has a strong affinity for sustainable transport modes, especially active mobility as she believes it empowers through the freedom it provides. She enjoys working not only on infrastructure and design, but also on behavior and cultural changes.

DCE expertise: holistic approach, infrastructure, design, behavior, persective from a different culture

DCE experience/projects: Participated in “Cyclovias y COVID-19” webinars organized by the DCE and is involved in the Colombian Active Mobility team.

Languages: Spanish, English and Dutch (intermediate)
