Dutch Cycling Embassy

The Dutch Cycling Embassy (DCE) is seeking an Events and Communications Intern starting in February 2025. Are you passionate about cycling and international cooperation? Would you like to contribute to promoting Dutch cycling knowledge worldwide and supporting the preparation for the Velo-city Conference, scheduled to be held in Gdansk in June 2025? Take a look at the vacancy below!

Work environment

The DCE is a public-private partnership dedicated to promoting Dutch cycling knowledge and expertise globally. We regularly receive requests from around the world to share Dutch cycling experiences. The DCE boasts a vast network comprising Dutch companies, knowledge institutions, NGOs, and government bodies to address these requests. We operate within an international team, collaborating with colleagues from Germany, Canada, and across the Netherlands. We provide study tours for foreign delegations, showcasing the myriad benefits of cycling. Thus, we’re not confined to our desks but embrace cycling as an integral part of our work!

Description of the internship

The primary focus of the Events and Communications Internship will be supporting the preparation of the Velo-City conference and trade show in Gdansk. In addition to supporting Velo-city 2025, you will help with our social media strategy, development of marketing and communication materials, writing news items for our website, and much more while actively participating in diverse team meetings. Each day at the DCE offers varied tasks, presenting unique challenges and promising a significant learning curve throughout the internship. This multifaceted experience will provide you with an opportunity to immerse yourself in the preparations for Velo-city while contributing meaningfully to bicycle-inclusive mobility initiatives.
